Pedra Furada

One of the most famous postcards of Ceara is "Pedra Furada". It is a huge rock formation and is a long and dazzling work of the action of wind, sea and time. It is a sculpture crafted by erosion in the middle of the rock.

The "Pedra Furada" can be visited during low tide, through the Wet beach and Pontal beach. 3 kilometers to the location, which can be achieved in a very pleasant walk, which may be combined with sea swims. During the trip, if you use the services of guides, they show the other spots, like the Tortoise and Alligator Rocks.

During the period from July 15 to August 15, the sun, in the sunset, fits in the hole of the stone. This is the only period that we can contemplate this spectacle landscape.

There is a small town located west of hamlet, in the middle of the dunes. Its main attraction is a pond that is in the midst of the dunes, along a small strip of mangrove that was occupied by the sea.
